Three girls were killed and as many boys got injured in a fatal road accident near Sector 44/45 on Sunday night.

Chandigarh: Three girls were killed and as many boys got injured in a fatal road accident near Sector 44/45 on Sunday night.
Police have not ruled out the possibility of drunken driving. The three girls have been identified as Palak Arora, 23, of Bhiwani, Payal Sharma, 24, of Bhiwani, and Pooja Sharma, 31, of Kurushetra. The incident took place around 1.45am.
The injured including Jaspreet, Sandeep and Harman were rushed to PGI from where they were shifted to a private hospital in Mohali.

According to family members of the deceased girls, Pooja and Palak were working together in a MNC in Mohali and Payal, who was known to them, was coming from Delhi to met them in the weekend. Three injured youths were also colleagues of Pooja and Palak. The car was being driven by Jaspreet.
Police sources said the car was on high speed and the driver lost the balance, hit the divider and collided with a road side tree. Members of the rescue team maintained that victims were taken out from the damaged car after cutting the doors with cutters. Police have started the investigation.
